Our studio is open to everyone, from absolute beginners to experienced yogis.  We have regular weekly classes available in traditional Ashtanga Mysore style, in complementary Led Ashtanga and Hatha Yoga.  You will also find Tai Chi class and other therapies available, including deep tissue, hot stone and osteopathic massage.   Our beautiful shala is purpose built, deliciously warm and fully equipped.  

 

Our teachers have a wealth of experience and have been teaching between them for over 25 years.  With the blessing of their teachers John and Lucy Scott and Peter Sanson, they are honoured to share their love for yoga with others.  We regularly host workshops as well, most recently hosting Peter Sanson, New Zealand's foremost Ashtanga teacher in September 2016.  Don't worry we'll keep you updated when we have news of our next exciting workshop!

Practise, practise, practise, all is coming, Pattabhi Jois

Ashtanga Yoga is a powerful and healing practise that helps build strength, stamina and focus.  Through a series of postures, linked together with your breath in flowing movements (called Vinyasa) we build internal heat, resulting in a detoxifying sweat.

The benefits of regular practice are almost immediate and will result in improved circulation and cardiovascular ability, physical strength, flexibility, balance, muscle tone, loss of excess weight, as well as improving our ability to focus and calm the mind.

We offer regular Ashtanga Yoga classes at Love Yoga Taupo throughout the week, just take a look at our latest timetable.  If you're new to the practise, we'd recommend either joining one of our Introductory courses, or coming to a Mysore class, where your teacher will be able to give you all the support you'll need to start your yoga journey :-)   Book online for your next class, just click here and if you haven't already, register your details.

 

BEGINNERS
We regularly offer Introductory courses: 4 x 60 minute classes over 4 days designed to build a strong foundation and understanding of the practice. A great way to step onto the mat, and share your journey with others.
 
MYSORE
Mysore classes are a fantastic way to explore your practice on a more individual basis.  Starting with the Primary Series and progressing at your own pace, adjustments are specific to your individual needs.  This means absolute beginners and advanced yogis are welcome, since your teacher will support your practise, wherever it is.

LED
Dynamic, strong and lots of fun, led classes help bring us back into a steady rhythm, whilst enjoying the energy and breath of the room.  Some understanding of the Primary Series is helpful for these classes.

HATHA YOGA

Our Hatha Yoga classes are a great access point for those keen to take a gentle approach.  This means if you're injured, cautious, pre- or post-natal, you are welcome to join one of these classes and share the beautiful group energy and led style of class.  Depending on your availability, and own schedule, take a look at our timetable, find a class that suits you and book your place online.
